De Hangar

In Arnhem, sandwiched between Deelen airfield and the cultural Buitenplaats Koningsweg in a rhomboid landscape amidst Natura 2000, is the Hangar Farm and Field. An aircraft hangar disguised as a farm by means of camouflage technology, built by the Germans in WWII.

The Hangar and field are transformed into a test site for the arts. During a five-year trial period, we will investigate whether and how seemingly opposing interests - culture, nature, landscape and heritage - can be united through art, by means of learning by doing.
